ENGLISH LESSONS FOR ARABIC SPEAKERS
In many ways, Conversational English is much easier than Arabic.
One of the great beauties of the Arabic language is its subtlety. Arabic is full of very small differences between words, and especially between different ways of talking to different people. English does not have those complications. Basically, in English you speak the same way to everyone.
Another beauty of Arabic (absent in English) is this: An Arabic sentence is like a beautiful road that goes through mountains and valleys, deserts and rivers. It is not a straight line. English is the opposite: The best English is the most simple English. It is a straight line as your sentence goes from A to B to C. When you realize this, English becomes much easier. However, it requires a very different way of thinking. In my Adult English Classes, I will teach you this English-language way of thinking. This will help you speak English better, and communicate better with people in English-speaking countries.
The big accent issue for Arabic speakers is this: Arabic has many stops and starts (called “glottal stops”). English is not like that. It flows more smoothly. English is also spoken more softly and more gently. In my English Pronunciation Lessons, you will find this easy to learn.
HOW OUR ENGLISH LESSONS FOR ARABIC SPEAKERS WORK
Grammar and Vocabulary
Many people ask me, “What text book do you use?” Here is my answer: YOU are the textbook!
In my personal, custom-designed English Lessons for Arabic Speakers, we start where you are in your English, wherever that is. As you speak, I listen to your grammar and find the difficult places.
Because I teach so many Arabic-speaking students, I know WHY you are making certain mistakes.
The vocabulary you need in English depends on the way you use your English. Do you speak English mostly at work (Business English Lessons)? Do you spend time with new English-speaking friends (English Conversation Lessons)? Do you need help with your writing (English Writing Lessons)? Do you give presentations or speeches (English Presentation Skills and English Speech Lessons)?
In my English Lessons for Arabic Speakers, you will have the vocabulary you need. You will also have the grammar to use those words correctly.
Conversation and Comprehension
Maybe you have good English grammar and a good English vocabulary. The next question is: How is your Pronunciation (English Pronunciation Lessons)?
Is your English easy to understand? Do you say your words correctly? Is the rhythm natural sounding?
These are all things you cannot learn from books. For these, you need a personal English teacher. A personal American English teacher raises your English to the next level!
I promise you, it will be effective – and fun!
GREAT ENGLISH TIPS TO REMEMBER:
1) Be sure to speak slowly! Many students speak much too fast! It is difficult to understand you when you speak too fast. Also, you do not have time to think about your vocabulary and the fundamentals of English grammar. Slow down! Speaking is not a race! LOL!
2) Be sure to say every letter and every syllable. In my Adult English Classes, you will learn how to give the correct “weight” to each letter and each syllable in a word. This will make your English clear and beautiful.
3) Remember this: The best English is the most simple English! You will always sound good with simple, short sentences. The best English is the clearest English.
4) Your two ears are your best teachers! Listen to everyone around you. The world is full of teachers. If people use words or expressions you do not understand, write them down and bring them to your next Adult English Class.
5) Relax and enjoy your English. A conversation in English is not a competition. Everybody has a different style. You have your own style. You could call it the “flavor” of your native language. It can make your English unique and beautiful.
